Free Operations for Children with Congenital Heart Disease

This initiative by the Government of Assam offers free heart operations for children with Congenital Heart Disease at the following hospitals:

• Narayana Hrudayalaya, Bangalore
• Narayana Hrudayalaya, Kolkata
• Narayana Hrudayalaya, Guwahati

Scheme Details:

• Eligibility:

  • The scheme for children between the age group of 0-18 years (since 1st January 2020; previously for age group 0-14 years)
  • Children born to permanent residents of Assam
  • Families with an annual income of Rs. 6.00 lakh or less

Registration Process:

• Patients are registered through a dedicated OPD in the Department of Paediatrics.

Statistics:

• Total cases registered under the RBSK programme (till 31st Dec. 2024): 11
• Patients were referred to the designated hospitals for free operations.
